Comments Thread For: Video: Wladimir Klitschko Focused on a Rematch

DUESSELDORF, Germany — Tyson Fury defeated Wladimir Klitschko by unanimous decision to end the Ukrainian’s 9 1/2-year reign as heavyweight champion on Saturday and take his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles.

After a bruising encounter that ended with cuts near both of Klitschko’s eyes, referee Tony Weeks went to the judges’ score cards.

Cesar Ramos and Raul Caiz Sr. scored it 115-112 each, while Ramon Cerdan had it 116-111 in favor of the undefeated Briton (25-0, 18 KO).

It'd be cool if some of these old mfers would just retire maaaaaaaaan. But respect to Klitschko. Guy was a title holder for a long ass time so if he wants to keep fighting fair enough & if he wants a rematch I can't say he don't reserve one.

I kinda hope Fury gives him a hard time about it & than makes him come to Wembley to try to get his belts back. A Tyson Fury title reign is gonna be fun as **** to watch whatever happens.

i think its good that hes thinking rematch already

he has to redeem himself, even if he losses he has to make it a better match

he deserves a rematch hes rule the division for so long

I'm gonna miss all those "Wlad is a top 5 ATG Heavyweight" threads. Hope the combat sports world is starting to clue in here. This is the second time in a month they've gotten put on notice. Don't ever call somebody a "legend" or an "all time great" until they f***ing prove it against elite opposition, and then prove it again. And again. And again. That hype **** needs to stop now and forever.

Ahh good reminder--before I forget-- Wlad needs a new trainer. Pretty much what he did was just took the tutelage of Emanuel and thought he was smart enough (with everyone else from the original camp) to apply it to every other fight. Jonathan is a good dude, no doubt--but when you come up against the best, friends don't cut it. Again, HUGE Klitschko fan, but the mind set of a boxer that ended his career the way he (Banks) did isn't what you want to guide you. He needs a TRAINER. I mean no offense by this, I mean this as a matter of fact.

I would like to see a rematch.

It would be great to see Wlad rise from adversity again if possible.

Nothing is to be lost anyway (except for the pain of getting beat up) if this is to mark the end of his career should he lose again.

But if he did win it would be in a similar vein to Lewis/Rahman.
