Most people thought Wlad would knock out Fury. In other words, most people don't know shit.
Vitali pussed out of a Haye fight, and needed a BS doctor's stoppage to beat Manuel Charr

It's all good. Wlad embarrassed David Gaye
Most people thought Fury would KO Wlad including you
It was far from an impressive win.. we'll see how he does in the rematch

You can have that opinion, doesn't make him comparable to the great brothers in a historical context. Even those who don't like Vlad admit he's an ATG.Comment

He deserves to be in the Hall Of Fame based on the length of his reign but ATG? He has done nothing and not beaten one fighter of good note to warrant that.Comment

He beat most of the best opposition during his era, can't really knock him. I would say he tarnished his legacy somewhat though with the Fury loss, unless he avenges it. Still had a good reign. Anyway, I was always a bigger Vitali fan.Comment

I agree totally with that pal.Comment

So? Are Wlad and Vitali the same person now? Why does one need to fight the other's battles for him?
Uh, no. Most people did not think that at all as can very easily be verified by looking at the pre-fight discussion thread. Wlad was the overwhelming favourite. In fact lots of people still think Wilder, Joshua, Ortiz etc would knock out Fury now.
If completely outboxing a dominant ten year champ who many Klittards thought was impossible to outbox isn't an impressive win then you have exceedingly high standards my friend. Or you're just a flat out hater.Comment

He only tarnished his resume because most people thought, and continue to think, that Fury is dogshite, including you. Personally I don't see any shame in a long-running but aging champion losing the title to a young up and comer, but then again I consider Fury to be the next dominant heavyweight in the division, as will be proved over the next few years. When you look at the fight in that context, it's really not such a big deal. I hope Wlad shows some fire in the rematch and actually goes for the KO this time, but even if he loses (which he will) he can still make a good account of himself with a valiant effort.
And he'll always be more respected historically than his brother, however people want to spin it.Comment
