Fury is not lineal, as the lineage ended with Lennox's retirement, but if he fights and unifies with Wilder or whoever holds the WBC by then he can start a new lineage.

I would put a lot of money on Povetkin beating Wilder before Wilder gets the chance to fight Fury.

Wlad vs Byrd established a new lineage. Or if not that Wlad vs Chagaev/Ibragimov/Haye/Povetkin etc

You are thinking of undisputed which is different.

Hard to compare Canelo and Fury

Fury's lineage is legitimate in that it reflects the best of his division
Canelo's clearly doesn't. He hasn't proven to be the best in the two divsions hes fought in yet, but he's still young.

However that wasn't your main point, and I somewhat agree. We also have Gonzales who seems to be taking the sport by storm (relatively, for a flyweight), at least in 'p4p' terms. The cruiserweight division is heating up again, featherweight is loaded, super featherweight has just found a new titleholder whos marketable.

                    Exciting times indeed
