Thurman vs Porter: Who you got?

If Collazo and Guerrero could back Thurman up, Porter pins his back to the ropes and works him over. Porter's style is all wrong for Thurman who needs the right distance to get his shots off and Porter will not allow that. Thurman is very uncomfortable on the inside as well as being backed up and that is where Porter lives, what defines his style and strengths.Last edited by richardt; 11-28-2015, 03:21 AM.

Thurman has exceptional movement, it's not going to be easy for Porter to close distance on. If he can close distance, I expect Porter to win, but by the same token he could get caught on the way in. Tough to call.
I don't really expect this fight to happen though.

Money on Thurman, but gonna come down to the final rounds.
Winner becomes #2 in division, probably #1 after Pacquiao retires.
Winner of Bradley-Brook would supplant this winner though.

Is this freaking fight even happening? Come on, sign it already!
I think Thurman wins a pretty clear decision. Porter will have trouble landing anything really clean and closing distance, and Thurman will land hard counters to discourage him. Could be a bit of a messy fight. Porter's style naturally lends to messy fights and Thurman isn't an inside fighter.
