    Canelo vs Lemieux

Ok, now that Canelo is officially the lineal 155lb MW champion of the world, let's speculate, realistically, who he's going to fight next...

I predict that if everything else fails, most likely conflicting from the catch weight issue between Canelo and GGG. Or possibly because Golden Boy wants to cash in on Canelo a little bit more. Then they will match their stablemates, Canelo vs David Lemieux(GB owe him a favor)...I see this as the more realistic option...So who wins???

I really like this match up! Fk polls...

Lemuix is garbage definition of a true paper champ he gets KO in the first or second round.

Lemieux can't do anything with Canelo, I'd rather a Cotto rematch and I don't find that appealing either.

And yes Canelo would get him out soon, Canelo will fight him up close and get him out.

Lemiuex can't make the CW(Canelo Weight 155)..but if he does..I see him being weak during da fight..and probably getting TKO He'll need a Floyd iV TUE to rehydrate just to feel normal... at full 160 he can beat canelo by KO or TKO. .if it goes to the cards. .no one beats Canelo on his cards. .Canelo has no jab or da power to keep Lemiuex off him..he can't just cover his body n take punches to the head like he did vs Cotto facing power guys at 160....I see Canelo getting KO TKO just like Chávez jr ones he moves up in weight. .he still a one dimensional fighter w some hands speed vs stationary fighters...the fact that he couldn't KO TKO smaller cotto says a lot about Canelo power moving up in weight.

I'm actually quite intrigue by this potential match up and honestly quite shock that there's been many posts on this site clamoring a Canelo domination of Lemieux...

I don't object to it if it's your honest and fan-enthusiast opinion...

But I hardly see it that way. I actually slightly favor Lemieux in this match up.

No, David Lemieux is not your typical James Kirkland fighter. I don't see Canelo keeping him at bay with a jab, Canelo's jab isn't that much superior to Lemieux's. Lemieux's a volume puncher and he's more powerful than Canelo. His punching power is better too and Canelo's there to be hit. I don't want to repeat it, but Canelo was landing significantly on the older and smaller Cotto and it wasnt crippling him. I just don't see Canelo's punches to be that effective against a full blown MW in Lemieux. He's proven to have a tough whisker against GGG and has more stamina than Canelo as displayed in the N'Dam and GGG fight.

I would love to eat my words on this match up...

I feel like Lemieux is for sure on the shortlist if not the outright early favorite. I'd love to see GGG vs Canelo in May, but I feel like Oscar's desire to "marinate" = Canelo dropping this title (or maybe they do something so that both can remain champions, alphabet groups are corrupt...I mean...resourceful like that) & GGG vs Canelo happening no earlier than Sept. & with a strong chance of not even until 2017.

And I feel like the Clottey vs Rosado winner will be on the shortlist for May opponents too.
