Fedor and Silva are better fighters, CroCop beat Randelman in a rematch. He didnt lose to Silva, it was a draw, but Silva is a better fighter. Losing to Randelman was embarrassing, in all honesty Randelman kind of sucks... CroCop is the only big name he beat.Originally posted by cybernicaComment

Yea Randelman sux now he had his good days in the UFC but in Pride hes done horrible and for him to KO CroCop was funny. I am pretty sure Silvia beat him it was his debut in Pride comming over from K1 and all the specail rules, it wasn't action packed or anything like his last few fights, but man I was hoping he would be the one to beat Fedor and after the lost to Randleman I gave up on CroCop... just my 2 penniesOriginally posted by Hous

But the UFC people robbed him. Or it shoulda been a "draw", but certainly not a victory for Rutten.
Randleman was also, afterall a ufc champ at one point in his career. (though that's not really important compared to pride's HWs level.)
The point is. Kevin Randleman is an extremely inconsistent fighter. But when the guy is "ON" He's a ****in monster.
He had a fluke Loss vs Liddell when he was fighting in the lhw category too. The ref stopped the fight and Kev wasn't even knocked out nor inertly lying on the ground.
It was a bull**** stoppage. Almost as bad as Sakuraba vs Shamrock.
Randleman's 2 major problems
1) He doesn't defend submissions too well. though He did a perfect job vs a top bjj artist (sobral).
2) He gasses pretty fast BUT!

The truth is, with the current state of UFC's HW division, even Kev, who's not currently ranked in Pride's top 10, would still have a pretty good chance at beating the likes of Arlovski and Sylvia.
Afterall, Look at Pedro Rizzo. He's merely a "can" now that he's fighting for Pride. And that guy owned arlovski.
And there's no "ring rust" excuses.
Because we can look at professional boxing. and notice that Lyakhovich, was just as inactive as Rizzo was. and He still came back on the scene to beat Lamon Brewster.
It's also worth noting that Randleman was pretty much owning Randy Couture in the ufc. When you actually watch the fight, You'll notice that he was clearly dominating but unfortunately His stamina wasn't good enough. That's precisely why He lost in the end.
Randleman is a 50/50 type of fighter. some of his fights are mediocre and disappointing. but He can also do some spectaluar things and pull major upsets.
Crocop got caught cause He wasn't concerned about Kev's striking. (after all, kev is just a wrestler). He paid for it.
I doubt Kev will ever beat Mirko again..Probably not.
But the point is..Never underestimate a guy like this. READ the article. It explains lots of things.Comment

You shouldn't. a loss vs Fedor is no big deal. Fedor is a special case in the mma scene. He's not just another "champ" to beat. In mma, There's Fedor. Losing vs a guy like this is not really alarming. Crocop did a very good job. Obviously, He couldn't keep witht he distance cause he kept defending fedor's ground attacks. That's why he was dead tired and couldn't keep up with Fedor's pace.
Watch this video. This puts a few things in perspective.
After his loss vs Randleman. Crocop won his rematch in less than a minute. He then defeated Josh Barnett twice (top ufc fighter.and certainly more capable than sylvia & arlovski). Mirko still went to a decision vs Fedor.
He had a needless loss vs Hunt. (via split decision). and it was more his fault than Hunt's. it was more of a kickboxing match with 4oz Gloves than an mma fight. It was pretty meaningless.
Crocop is still Pride's #3. Hunt will eventually get subbed by a good ground fighter. Crocop won't. That's why He's at the top of the food chain in Pride. He's very fast. And He trained his ass off to handle ground attacks. He's no longer just a one trick poney and avoiding the ground like the plague.
He has changed.
He has a very good chance to end up in the finals.
I think He and Nogueira (and maybe barnett & Alexander). Have the best chances to win the owgp.
If Mirko loses vs minowa , He should call it quits though. But right now, He's still a top fighter.Comment
