I mean if that was you-know-who we would all say he was running yet Cotto didn't stop circling the whole fight. Also Freddie Roach is a Lame. He talks bad on you-know-who but tells Cotto to use the same strategy.

Well to Cotto's credit, at least he didn't fight Canelo at 152 like "you-know-who"

No he didn't run, Lara ran. Difference is, Cotto was standing in the pocket at times and trading. OF course it wasn't good for him or what Roach wanted but he did it. Lara literally was jogging across the ring.

Cotto circled and tried to choose his engagements, but he didn't score meaningful shots on Canelo. He was able to deliver enough offense to make the fight competitive -- against an only somewhat active opponent who wasn't able to cut off the ring and finish the job. But Cotto was never able to take control of the fight. He was smart to keep moving, but I wouldn't call it running.

Lara did some of the most out and out running I have ever seen a champion do. It's true Canelo didn't hit Lara much because he spent so much time trying to get close enough to Lara to land. Lara didn't hit Canelo much either because he was too busy running away to throw many punches. Canelo came forward all fight and landed the harder punches. Anyone scoring that fight for Lara would have to be very bias in Lara's favor. If you spend 90% of the fight running away you lose the fight. They landed about the same number of punches but punches landed going forward are much harder than punches landed while going backward.

Well and I think we also need to understand that this is professional prize fighting. We aren't here to out point each other, we are here to do damage and do it effectively.

Canelo vs Lara was a terrible fight to watch because Lara didn't want to engage. He felt the power, and decided he wanted none of that. Mayweather on the other hand, stood in front of Canelo and schooled him for 12 rounds.
