Comments Thread For: Miguel Cotto: I Won 8 of 12 Rounds, I Expected To Win

Ok so i'm going ot make a fair assesment as possible. So I had Canelo winning close, let's get that out of the way. There were several rounds that I found difficult to score until HBO did a replay of Canelo landing punching, I gave those difficult to score rounds to Canelo due to the replays showing his hard punches landed, but not Cotto's. I wonder how much of this biased replaying affected the way I and other fans scored the fight? There were punches that Cotto landed which I wanted to see in slow motion replay, but HBO never played them. It was like some kind of psychological scheme HBO was doing to keep Canelo's combo's fresh in our heads and keep us with that "Ooh Canelo landed a hard punch" round after round. HBO seems to do this with the more marketable fighter of a big fight. This is not the first time I noticed this. I think that if HBO did the opposite, showed Cotto's landed punches instead of Canelo's, I think people would have had a different scorecard. But as of right now I say Canelo won a close fight and there were several close rounds you could have given to Cotto, I was very unsure and that was the same thing my friends were saying. There were a lot of rounds where we didn't know who to give it to. In the late rounds actually someone shouted out "rematch", because it was too close. I can see where Cotto is coming from feeling that he won the fight, I would not say he is going crazy or be a sore loser.

Cotto is a poor sport for leaving the ring and not giving an interview and now he's a sore loser who can't accept the fact that he lost.cotto is a joke!

I just rewatched sober 7-5 for cotto. 6-6 is very plausible. Can't say I'd give him 8-4 doe. Cotto boxed his azz off for 12 full rounds. He ussally a 8 round fighter. Gavin helped out a lot. I think cotto backed way to many round first half of fight. Cottos certainly won round 10 and I believe he won round 11.
Canelo fought amazingly as well. He has come a tremendous was in terms of boxing ability. He landed the harder blows. Cotto just plain out landed Canelo. Plain and simple. Fbi needs to investigate the Nevada commission.
