I'm not impressed with Canelo's win. Not a single KD in the fight and Canelo was landing flush. He beat a past it Cotto. A JMW Cotto masquerading as a MW while he came into the fight as a LHW and couldn't even knock him down. We've seen a better version of Cotto get beat by decisions before. If Canelo is special he should've finished what Margarito and Pacquiao started. Cotto has never been a mover but he moved well enough in this fight. Movement still bothers Canelo. Sorry but I'm not impressed by a prime Canelo getting a decision over a past it Cotto.

    Brilliant.

Margarito did the same just by following up right hands with uppercuts....

This is why regardless of Canelo's lack of activity, he clearly won......almost no quality punches from Cotto...the highlights are basically all canelo. Cotto didn't land enough to steal rounds.
Yeah man I always figured the uppercut was going to be a huge key for this fight. Roach never really had a chance to correct that based on the opposition they had been facing.

Just imagine if Canelo would have finished up that sequence with a vicious right hook, cotto would be out for the count.

Wow someone oughta do a side by side comparison. Canelo must be a saiyan or somn. Every fight he seems to improve.

I have been a Canelo fan since I first saw him when KOed Cotto's brother. I have made lots of money betting on him. I have always thought he was badly underrated and unfairly disliked or hated on this board. Finally some are starting to realize what a good fighter he is. His haters like to call him ginger as if having red hair made this good looking man a freak. They call him hypejob and say he only fights smaller guys or old men and washed up fighters. They say he can't fight at all and is full of flaws. They say he has no stamina and terrible foot work and he can't cut off the ring. They say he has a weak chin because Cotto's brother staggered him when he was 19 years old. Now they rarely call him hypejob or ginger and it's getting through their thick sculls that he really is a damn good fighter and he is for real. The Mexican fans have always known how good he is and now the rest of the world is starting to appreciate him. It's about time.

Canelo landed some nice short left hooks in round 9

Cotto did well to avoid the brunt of the follow-up here
