Nelo was just a cub then...now he's a young lion who's been in with better more talented fighters than Little G....you become better going one on one with the LeBron's, Steph Curry's and Kevin Durant's of the league and not the Joe Blow's and Willie Monroe Jr's of the league....so I don't really understand what a sparring session from half a decade ago has to do with now

Canelo has always risen to the occasion save for Mayweather, but nobody beats that guy so you can't hold that against him. I think Canelo has the tools to beat Golovkin. I'll agree that Golovkin is the best middleweight in the world right now, but that honestly isn't saying much. His other "competition" at 160 is Andy Lee and Peter Quillin, the former getting KO'd by Chavez Jr, and the latter struggling to a draw with the former lol.
I can see Alvarez going after Lee or Quillin if Al Haymon is willing to play ball. That would force Golovkin to take his mando against Eubank Jr, and then they would fight during the second half of 2016.Last edited by doom_specialist; 11-23-2015, 06:02 AM.Comment

Canelo's a sharp puncher. Against an opponent who's coming forward he'll be well capable of putting tight combinations together and stepping out. I don't think he'll be able to keep doing it. Golovkin will keep coming and he'll get tired and beat up.Comment
