GGG by a country mile. Ward seems to have lost desire to compete with the best. He only talks about fighting GGG at his weight of 168. If Ward was a real warrior he would have tried to get fights with the other 168 pound champs like GGG is doing at 160. Instead he sits it out on the sidelines cry babying about how mistreated he is and how he can't get GGG to fight him on his terms and at his weight of 168. GGG is not the only fight in the world. He should have taken other fights in his own weight class but instead he remained inactive. GGG fights 4 times a year and always wins by KO. Ward just wines and complains but damn near never fights anymore and when he does fight it's against unranked Paul Smith.

Pound for pound rankings and all other rankings are based on the last year or at the very most two years. Ward has the better career resume but what the fuc has that got to do with today? The last real good fighter Ward fought was Dawson and that was three years ago. The only fight Ward has had in two years is bummy Paul Smith. Ward fans like to go back 3 to 5 years ago because that's all they have got. Do fans rated Pacquiao on how he performed 3 to 5 years ago. Hell No. They rate him on how he has performed in the last year or two. Why should Ward be evaluated any differently? If you can go back to any time in the fighter's career and make it count today then Roy Jones is still the pound for pound best fighter in the world.

Why limit it to the last 3 years? I get the moist recent is most relevant, but the lack thereof f quality offsets the activity to a degree.

GGG has his network feeding him a string of bums. In HBO did that for Ward he'd be as active as GGG.
