¿So what happened to Cotto's newfound power?

He couldn't even tickle Canelo ffs

Yeah, Ginger was much bigger than Cotto, but so was Geale, whom Cotto blew away

I thought Cotto's punching power was better-than-ever under Roach according to Cotto fans?

    they also claimed stuff like

    - Cotto's power will shock Canelo. Cotto stronger than ever under Roach

    - Cotto is the hardest puncher Canelo's ever fought

    - Canelo hasn't dealt with that kinda powa

    - Cotto's fat brother rocked Canelo, imagine what Miguel will do to him
    etc etc

So what happened? Ofc, Cotto was never a harder puncher than Angulo or specially Kirkland (only his rabid nuthuggers would claim otherwise) but his power should still have had some effect on Canelo, shouldn't it?

So what happened to Cotto's power? where did it go?

rejuvenated version of Cotto, with a proper elite trainer now in Roach.

remember, when Cotto lost to Trout it was because he was unfocused and pedro diaz was a bum of a trainer

Two of the biggest fights of 2015, Roach has been in the losing corner each and every time lol some might go for blaming Roach.

I think Cotto was stuck between a rock and a hard place, fighting off the backfoot wasn't working out because Canelo was catching him and If Cotto came to look for a fight he'd be playing into Canelo favour big time.

Think Canelo would have definitely stopped Cotto If It was the Cotto of old who looked to press up against you and fight.

In order for kneeguel to have power 3 factors will have to come into play
1.you have to be weight drained (geale)
2.you must have a handicap (martinez)
3.you have to be a bum (delvin rodriguez)

Anyone with sense understood how much opposition had to do with Cotto's "revival."

I think you mean Cotto must have to fight a handicap.

I like Miguel, but as I've said over the last year, his 'revival' was a mirage.

A crippled Sergio, below average Rodriguez and poor Geale are not proper preparation for a top guy like Canelo.

Thought about this in the morning

An elite fighter should look good against decent opponents, which Miguel did.

THe majority of his run after getting beat by manny was smoke and mirrors, fighting Floyd and Trout were the exceptions.

Yuri Foreman (fair enough every star fighter is entitled to an easy one after being destroyed)

                  Ricardo Mayorga (shot by then)

antonio marg (understandable why Miguel had to get revenge. marg was done by then though)

                  Floyd (great opponent)

                  Trout (good opponent)

Delvin Rodriguez (I didn't even know who this guy is)

Sergio Martinez (good fighter but shot by then)

                  Geale (another easy opponent)

In 6 years he had 3 years where he only fought once. This wouldn't be so bad if there were less soft touches
