    Cong**** to Canelo

First things first. Canelo won the fight, and my congratulations to him and his team. He fought well enough to win, although I thought the scorecards were excessively wide. Still.... he did a great job, and my hat's off to him. He also spoke very well during and after the fight. He's got a great future ahead of him, provided he keeps his discipline and fights at the weight he's meant to fight.

No regrets from Cotto's effort, though. He fought his heart out, and did the best he possibly could. It turns out I was right. The size, age, and power difference were just too much to overcome. Cotto outboxed Canelo in several rounds, hence my opinion that the judges were, albeit predictably, very unkind to him.

Cotto has nothing to hang his head about. He lost to a bigger, stronger, younger, up-and-coming fighter in what to me was a great fight. If he were to walk away from boxing at this point, he's had a spectacular HOF career and has nothing left to prove. Cotto haters are elated, of course, but hey you can't win them all. I was happy with Cotto's effort, but willing to accept the defeat.

Yeah.... I've seen they do that here. No explanations either.

Turns out you were right?????? That's total BS. You said yesterday that Cotto was going to win big and the Canelo fans would be too embarrassed to even show up this morning. You talked like the fight had already happened and Cotto had won it easily. You didn't give Canelo even the slightest chance of winning. You said Cotto would be the winner without a doubt. You were wrong. I am a Canelo fan and here I am enjoying his u.d. win by scores of 117-111, 118-110 and 119-109. Cotto fought well but Canelo beat him easily.

I always said Canelo was too big, young, and powerful for Cotto. Size mismatch. Of course I was rooting for my guy..... what else would you expect??

Nah. It has nothing to do with size and power he got soundly outboxed. It really wasn't even close at all

No, it has nothing to do with size and power. And it's the sun that actually revolves around the Earth. Someday, when you reach high school, you'll learn to analyze fights objectively without sounding like an idiot.

Good post OP. Cotto fought well and I was impressed with how he would fire right back after taking some big shots. Stamina wasn't an issue for either guy as well.
Canelo was just the better man last night.
I said a long time ago that a younger Cotto would be a tougher fight for Canelo, the old guy still showed flashes though. He still has a few more fights left in him.
