    Can Canelo beat Golovkin?

I'm a huge Canelo fan. He's my favourite fighter at the moment. I'd love for him to fight GGG and you wouldn't expect any different from him considering his throwback attitude. I just don't know that he could beat GGG. He's obviously got a chance because he's an elite fighter but I would say he starts out as considerable underdog.

Anybody, out there who believes Canelo can win? If so how?

If Canelo can survive 12 rounds, he can win. The Mayweather fight, Lara fight and now the Cotto fight has confirmed that Canelo will always get the rub of the green on the cards.

Make it an inside fight and punish gennady's body

That Monroe fight showed me gennady can be had at close quarters by an opponent who knows what he's doing

Yeah GGG showed he can be hit. I don't buy into this Mexican style thing, nobody wants to get hit. He showed that in the Lemieux fight.

Canelo's work to the body can be vicious. He showed some of it today against Cotto and against Lara he really thudded the body.

Maybe get on the inside **** the body and come up with his uppercuts. Then we'll see the Mexican style response lol.

Where do you see Alvarez maxing out in terms of skills

He always seems to be in close fights at the higher level when opponents aren't tailormade rather than putting on dominant performances

          I had Trout 7-5
          Drew with Erislandy
and a competitive match with Miguel

I think whenever he fights an elite level boxer he'll always be in trouble purely because he isn't able to cut off the ring as well as his other attributes and stamina issues which prevent him from being as active as he could be. But both cutting off the ring and stamina are issues that can be rectified. So then, rather than having close fights with the likes of Trout and Lara he could perhaps win more dominantly in an 8-4 fight like he did today. Still even with these issues I had him winning 7-5 against both Trout and Lara. A good strength and conditioning coach would significantly help Canelo.

Also, when fighting fighters who are "tailormade" for him at the elite level i.e Kirkland & Angulo I wouldn't say they are necessarily tailormade, it's just that Canelo has the attributes to beat them. They being solid B fighters still have the power and tenacity to beat him. Not saying that you aren't giving him credit for wins, but it irkes me when other people on this board don't give him credit for them wins because they were supposedly tailormade for him as if they just turn up to lose.

I think his performance against Canelo shows how much he has improved. His defense in the fight with regards to his upper body movement was also very good, he was very slick in evading punches. If he can continue to improve like this and sort out the two glaring issues I previously mentioned then I think he could even go up to 168 and possibly 175 and still compete. Remember he's only 25. Today he fought as if someone who's been a champion for years and it was just another fight. I was really impressed with the performance.

But you can expect the usual haters to say Canelo is overrated, spoonfed stardom, get sparked by GGG & is a bum. Anyone who's objective will be able to see the significant improvements, the throwback attitude & the very good wins he's got on his resume earning him a spot in the top 10 P4P and maybe even top 5.

Canelo Vs GGG is a great fight!
It has to be at 160. I'm a huge Nelo fan but another loss to a p4p top 5 killer wouldn't harm him, his stock will rise!

Lara is not tailor-made for Canelo, he's a stylistic nightmare. You can bet Oscar begged him not to go for that fight and invested his mortgage in the judges.

Right... Monroe had GGG exactly where he wanted him, and got iced. Canelo fares about the same. GGG knows more about boxing than pseudo boxers like Canelo and Monroe can comprehend.

Mistake. Meant to say Kirkland & Angulo. Edited the post.
