I agree but you left out that fighting Ward at 168lbs, would've been the right move. Not a catch weight. I like GGG but I will not defend him calling out Ward at a catch weight. It just means he didn't want the fight. Ward would've beaten his ass anyway. He is too BIG for GGG. Canelo will fight GGG in due time. Let him enjoy the biggest win of his career for a minute. It would be ****** to jump to middleweight and fight GGG right away. He makes 155lbs comfortably right now. Why don't GGG grab Andy Lee's belt in the meantime and let the fight simmer. When they finally meet, don't be surprised if Canelo wins it.

You're right about that first line. It was all smoke and mirrors, making Ward an offer he couldn't help but refuse. Canelo probably waits a year or two to fight ggg because right now its all risk and no reward (according to the recent ppv numbers). If that happens, ggg will be on the wrong side of 35 and Canelo would be as heavy as a full-fledged MW. He probably would get the W by then.

It's kinda sad really. GGG has been stalking champions who avoid him like the plague since he was in that crappy contract in Germany. Sturm gave up his belt to avoid GGG and it's just the same old story. You have to hand it to the guy and his team. Instead of getting gifted a chance he has just fought 3 or 4 times a year, mowing people down and collecting whatever titles he can to increase his leverage. It's taken time but it is coming to a head. He is going to get that WBC title. The only question is when. If he waits Canelo will get stripped. WBC can protect him but not forever. If he wants it fast it is going to have to be at Canelo's 'weight class' whatever that is. GGG is very likely to get the winner of Saunders Lee because the money he can pay them is a lot for them. So that will likely be another title. The public demand for the fight is going to get bigger and bigger. The Mexican's love Canelo but that fan base can switch on a dime if they feel the guy is ducking so he has to be very careful how he plays it. Cotto was at the end of his career and clearly didn't give a **** what anybody thought. But Canelo is at the beginning of his career and his fanbase is very important to hi. It's going to get very interesting.

Give me 5 fighters in the top 30 who are more known for who avoided them than who they fought. You can't. Fights that aren't fought don't add to legacy.

Look, just because someone isn't making Floyd and Oscar money, doesn't mean he isn't getting paid. Secondly, GGG doesn't look bad for not fighting guys who avoided him. He can't make them fight. That adds to his greatness. Its not just one guy, or even two guys who refuse to fight him. Its been every champion in his divsion for the past 5 years. How does that make GGG look bad when these cats are making excuses? It doesn't. People are willing to fight Canelo and Cotto because they are very beatable. Then its DLH paid off the commentators, DLH bought out the judges, DLH gave coke to everyone in the arena. A good bit of hate for Canelo, which may or may not be justified depending on how you look at things, but the level of class from diva Cotto was proven low when he refused post-fight interviews.And by that I mean Adrian Bonehead low class. The scores were indeed off, it was maybe a 3-4 point win for Canelo, but still, Cotto needs to just do an easy farewell fight and leave the sport permanently. As for Canelo's future opponents, he should be allowed one fight before being required to go in there against GGG. And he is right, especially after last night's win, he is the more popular fighter with the fans, the bigger draw. If GGG fought in San Antonio or Mexico or L.A., he wouldn't be able to fill a stadium unless it was vs Canelo. But now, Canelo could do it even without GGG.

Money is great, and of course he wants big fights. But his family lives in a country where he is a superstar and the money he already made has him set for life, especially in his native country.
