He knew he wasn't OK, that's why he immediately backed up as soon as the ref allowed the fight to continue. He wasn't ready at all and was still wobbly.

It's common sense to know that the ref will give you about 5-6 seconds extra after the normal 10 count. Rest on one knee, when the ref gets to 8, stand and back yourself into a corner, it takes more time of the round clock and this is still without the ref evaluating whether you can continue or not.

That's about 16-17 seconds right there for you to gather yourself.

He was rash and way too eager to prove he wasn't hurt which clearly wasn't the case.

Ref definitely stepped in at the wrong time. Miura was getting his legs back and vargas was punching himself out early as he did every other round.

This fight was incredible. Miura is too tough for his own good. All he had to do was go down and stay down for 8 seconds.

This was some crazy ass fight without a doubt. Just when it looked like it was sealed one way it just did a 180 so frikking fast.

This was the fight of the year! We finally got a fight to put an exclamation point of the year! Miura showed an iron will coming back from almost being put out in the first only to impose his will through the mid rounds. Vargas has out on his feet as the bell rang to close the 8th. To come out in the ninth the way he did showed determination. Two strong willed fighters put it on the line tonight. What an incredible fight!
