I think Weeks could have let him finish the round. Vargas was in his way to punching himself out. Then we would have had a new fight

if the ref had stepped in while miura was flailing around the ring moments earlier i'd have no doubts, but it seemed as if his head was starting to clear and his legs were steadying when weeks actually chose to step in. but it was great regardless. would love a rematch

No he was seriously hurt...yes he was managing to survive but he wasn't punchng back and when your in trouble with the ref looking at stopping it you have to throw punched back...took some serious head shots and was still on ***** Street so. Think it was a fair stoppage..really great fight though

Miura wobbled Vargas 10 seconds before the stoppage - both were ready to fall - brilliant fight. They just took 2 years off each other's careers.

Japanese fighters need to travel more in order to get acclimated for when a big Vegas fight comes around. Miura might have looked tough before but he had to go through hell tonight in a hostile environment.

I do agree that the stoppage was a little early. Both guys showed in this fight that they could come back from getting hurt, Miura deserved a little more time to see if he could turn it around.
