Comments Thread For: DeGale: I Think Murray Has Enough To Beat Abraham

JAMES DEGALE has backed domestic rival Martin Murray to become world champion tonight - and set up a Battle of Britain.

Murray faces Arthur Abraham for the WBO super-middleweight title in Hanover in his fourth crack at a world belt.

And DeGale, who currently holds the IBF version of the crown, says St Helens hardman Murray is finally set to join him at boxing's top table.

"Enough" won't be enough in Germany.

He'll have to win almost every round.

      ^^ this.

I hope he does it because he's been very unlucky in the past with decisions.

I suspect he'll try to do what Froch did against Abraham and box/jab his head off for 12 rounds. Whether he can do it is another matter and i don't think he could knock Abraham out. He will need to win almost every round by a mile to get a decision.

      Looking forward to this one.

There was nothing wrong with the Sturm decision. In fact, Murray was lucky to get a draw IMO.

Murray has the tools to box him and outwork him weather that will be enough for the decision I too am not sure. Abraham has the power to stop Murray aside from what happened to him against G, murray was hanging on for dear life at the end of the strum fight , Arthur also takes a good shot and as we all know is mighty strong.....big ask really but will be rooting for the lad.

I didn't think Stieglitz could get a stoppage over AA either but that happened, it just depends on his luck anyone can be stopped.

I somehow doubt the punching power of Abraham is going to be the problem for Murray, AA style is slow and he doesn't impose himself on his opponents as much as G does.
Murray has a pretty good chin If anything we've never really seen him hurt that badly and he has been up against big punchers before active punchers like Martinez who didn't really dent him at all.

                  True, who knows.

Murray is very tough as hell anyway which will help him a lot against a guy like Abraham.

Plenty of Golovkin's opponents have quit because of far less punishment than Murray took, and in the end the ref had to save him from his own pride and bravery.

For the record, I agree with DeGale.
