Comments Thread For: Joseph Parker Climbs To Top Five Rank Under WBO

New Zealand heavyweight Joseph Parker has lifted to a career-high No 5 ranking with the World Boxing Organisation.

Parker moves up one place on the back of his second round demolition of Kali Meehan in Auckland last month.

He is the WBO's Oriental and African champion.

He still hasn't really fought anybody worth a darn. At some point his people should start putting him in against a few heavyweights in the top 10 if they want him to be ready for Klitschko some day.

Otherwise he'll be unprepared and unfinished like Wilder is right now.

Him n Joshua should just fight next (after Whyte if victorious), battle of the prospects.

There goes any chance Parker had of getting a shot at Wilder. We all know that DW doesn't face ranked opposition.

WBC must think a lot of Kali Meehan though, to give Parker such a bump.

            Bollocks.

Parkers handlers are crap as they have always been in NZ. Parker has a shot at becoming really really successful but he really needs to forget fighting here and move stateside. Going for Wilder is his only shot, just that every other heavyweight has the same goal. No one wants Klitschko.
The best fight for Parker I think is Joshua mid to late 2016 then top 10 opposition till he gets a shot. They are babying him and when he finally steps up opposition his is in for a rude awakening if he has not fought tougher guys.
Parker v Joshua potential has me salivating, what a great fight this would be for as long as it lasted which I guarantee would not be past 4 rounds
