Comments Thread For: Roach is Not Surprised Chavez Jr. Wants Him Back

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - BoxingScene.com reported last week that former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is looking to reunite with his former trainer, Freddie Roach.

After breaking away with Top Rank in 2014, and signing with manager/adviser Al Haymon, Chavez Jr. dropped the services of Roach and hired Joe Goossen. They had one fight together in April, where Chavez suffered his second career loss and was stopped in the ninth round by Andrzej Fonfara.

Reason he wants Roach is because Roach just left him to his own devices because he's got way too many fighters to be effective anymore (if indeed he ever was effective).

Chavez will be doing weed camps as usual, smoking marijuana while training as Roach gets some positive effects for his Parkinsons through breathing in the second hand smoke rumor has it.

What the hell is that? Like him or not you just don't make fun of anyone with such a debilitating disease.

Robert Garcia must be pissed. He's literally been begging to train Chavez. And after one fight he already wants to leave him for Roach.

Sounds like they click but Freddie can only do so much .It's time Chavez jr. really gave it his full attention but even then he would have to pick his opponents.
Super Middle is for him as the rugged Fanfora at light heavy was just too big and strong.Nice to see Callum Smith or Groves in with him.

I told people the Garcia union wouldn't last. How you think Garcia feels that Chavez is now basically begging his old trainer to take him back? At this point if you think the problem with Chavez is the trainer then you just ain't been paying attention. He's gone through so many trainers and they all say the same things about him. That he's lazy, he's not dedicated. Hell his own daddy basically said this, his old manager, his old promoter. And you see it for yourself. I'll never forget how he acted in the biggest fight of his life and he's on HBO 24/7 blowing off his trainer just so he could lay around his house in his underwear eating cereal. He's too old now to squeeze his body down and enter the ring with a huge weight advantage over middleweights. And he get's killed by mediocre fighters his own size. No trainer can save him. He was a spoiled brat who only got to where he was because of the advantages of having his daddy's last name. Any other last name and he would of been chewed up and spit out of boxing a looong time ago.
