Comments Thread For: Roach: May-Pac II, Too Much Money To Walk Away

Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay - Freddie Roach, who trains eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao, believes there is too much money at stake for rematch not to happen with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

After five years of anticipation, the two fighters finally met in the ring on May 2nd and Mayweather won a twelve round unanimous decision. Besides generating a crushing figure of 4.6 million pay-per-view buys, the event broke every financial record in the sport.

No reason for this fight to happen. Manny got dominated and embarrassed the first time around. No need for a second boxing clinic. And I really don't think there is interest in a second fight, from the public.

Manny lost the fight yeah, but a victory over a man with a serious shoulder injury doesn't hold much weight.

Pac would use the shoulder as an excuse again.

I'd be happy for them to fight again. It'll only end in my misery for the pactards when Floyd comprehensively schools him again.

Fans say they don't want to see it (but would probably spend for the fight) but as a fighter, it'd be hard for anyone to walk away from that much money.

Watch the fight again. After the 4th round, Pacquiao's right hook went completely silent, even though mayweather is open for it.He was landing it repeatedly in the early rounds and then he just completely stopped throwing it for the latter half of the fight. If you watch the fight closely, he undoubtedly injured his right shoulder.

He had a tear in his shoulder that he got surgery for. They did not fake the surgery. Stop holding on to this lie that floyd beat a healthy pacquiao. All the evidence says otherwise.

I'm probably one of the very few Floyd fans who wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. There's just too much bitterness and sour graping from Pac fans and there's nothing more satisfying to see them finally shut up for good when Floyd dominates Pacquiao again.
