canelo will be fine, hes never missed weight and hes never had to weigh in a second time as far as i remember. hes been fighting at 155 for a while, if they were sure they coudlnt make 155, they would have pushed for a higher weight, he has enough bargaining power to get it.

False info my friend.
By Rick Reeno is a week away from his scheduled return. Ward, who's been out of the ring since November 2013, During Ward's period of inactivity, his name was consistently linked to several potential fights. One of those potential fights would come against WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs). In an interview conducted last year, Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez said his boxer was willing to fight any notable name from junior middleweight to super middleweight. In a direct response to that interview, Ward raised his hand and said he was ready to fight Golovkin. At that time, Golovkin's handlers had legitimate concerns because Ward had an ongoing legal battle with his former promoter. That legal issue has long been resolved. During several recent interviews with Golovkin and members of his team, Ward's name has once again been raised for a potential fight. Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2, is receptive to the idea of fighting Ward but believes they need additional time to build it up into a pay-per-view attraction. Ward does not agree with Loeffler's response and views it as another excuse to avoid the fight - noting that Golovkin has attempted to face two different super middleweights, Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in the last twelve months. Both Chavez and Froch are physically bigger than Ward.Comment

Jesus, there's a lot of hate on these forums, Trout, Williams, Angulo, Kirkland and a ton of other guys get in the ring @170+ yet you only like to trash Canelo.
Kid has fought the most dangerous guys when nobody dares to do it and you bash him.
Listen Canelo vs GGG will happen next year, stop with the bull**** hating.Comment

He missed weight twice. He missed weight for Matthew Hatton and they had to move up the limit and he missed weight for Angulo and they moved it up to 155. Both times he paid a lot of money to do so.canelo will be fine, hes never missed weight and hes never had to weigh in a second time as far as i remember. hes been fighting at 155 for a while, if they were sure they coudlnt make 155, they would have pushed for a higher weight, he has enough bargaining power to get it.Comment

Fookin hilarious

On the date of that article, Ward had been inactive for 18 months and needed time to get back down to 168, that is why he fought Smith at 172.
EVERYBODY knows that, it was well-documented at the time.
I will say again kid..... EVERYBODY knows that
And what happened after the Smith fight, when Ward was ready ?
Here, let me remind you..........
Andre Ward Must Go to 164 or No Fight
Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin, has made it absolutely clear that he's not going to budge from his position that a potential fight with Andre Ward will only happen if Ward - the recognized champion at super middleweight - is wiling to meet them halfway at a catch-weight of 164-pounds. Golovkin and his team received more than their fair share of heat in recent days, after placing a catch-weight demand on a potential fight with Ward. The reason for the heat, is because Golovkin was willing to fight both Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the full super middleweight limit.
And what happened AFTER that, here I will remind you again.....
Roc Nation: GGG's Team Turned Down Ward in 36 Minutes
Over the last few weeks, a lot has been said and a lot has been written with respect to a potential fight between WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs) and WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs). As the finishing touches were being made to Golovkin's October 17th unification with IBF champion David Lemieux - Ward's promoter, Roc Nation Sports Chief Operating Officer David Itskowitch, emailed an official offer to Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.Comment
