I doubt Mayweather would come out of retirement to fight Cotto. His first fight with him was a grueling affair that kickstarted his talk of retiring.

It's not a knock against Mayweather, but I think he realised the wear and tear he was starting to accumulate. One of his toughest opponents is just going to serve as a reminder of what he has to get into when stepping in the ring.

Since moving up to 147 Floyd has never taken on th real challenge and he won't start now. PAC has the power and speed and it showed in the first fight.
I think Floyd wins again but the fact that manny one armed or not hurt Floyd twice wil make him choose Cotto because although he suffered a bloody nose he was never stunned or in danger in that fight. I really hope Floyd stay retired
So no one at 147 or above was a challenge. Seems rather revisionist and self serving. It's also wierd to see you take an opponent landing a punch that stunned Floyd as a sign of danger. I Get you don't like him, but these types of petty, agenda driven criticisms really do nothing but deflate the value of all other fighters.

What will it take to concede that Floyd is just a once in a generation talent?

Floyd-Cotto 2 lost intrigue for me when Cotto was stripped of the WBC title. A rematch at 154 doesn't do much for me, but if they had done it at MW I would have been interested in Floyd going for a belt in a 6th weight class.

I guess they could still do it for the lineal MW title but I don't think Floyd even knows what a lineal title is. Plus, I don't expect Cotto to fight above 154 ever again.

First of all, your avatar is Floyd. Why would I take you seriously? You are not being honest by saying that Manny was the 4th least effective against Floyd. Where did you get those stats? We all know that Compu Box is a JOKE!!!!!!!! Name another Floyd opponent who made him run and look ordinary for 12 rounds? Even Floyd himself said he was hurt a few times in there on May 2nd. He landed next to nothing? Hahaha!!!!!! This conversation is over.

He sure did. I think he said it in the post fight interview once and he said it in the barber shop the day after. He went into great detail about what he thinks about Manny. He said Manny was smarter than he realized and that he couldn't do some of the things he wanted to do. He said Manny's feet and counter positioning surprised him also. The thing is, I am not a Fanboy at all. I am honest and I respect the sport. I initially thought Floyd won when I watched the fight live, 7-5. I even lost a cash bet also. Every time I've watched it since, I have Manny winning the fight 7-5 or 8-4. Based on the three criteria a judge is supposed to use during a fight, Manny won. You cannot win a championship fight, running, holding, and not letting your hands go. Period. The judging of fights need to change immediately going forward. If anyone deserves to fight Floyd, it's Manny. That's the only fight left for either really.
