Cotto hasn't really done anything impressive in years. All his good wins in the last few years have been against weight drained or severly injured opponents.

Clearly, Cotto is not the same fighter he once was. His hand speed is obviously way way down. Once upon a time, his left hook was like a whip. He still has that weapon, but its slower and easier to read.

Even since Marg and Pac, he hasn't really been as good.

You can assume Margarito cheated in the Cotto fight if you want to but there isn't any proof that Margarito cheated in his fight with Cotto. The boxing rules call for him to wrap his hands in front of a member of the boxing commission and someone from Cotto's team so how could he cheat without getting caught? I am from the school of innocent until proven guilty. Margarito was found guilty of attempting to use illegal gloves going into the Mosley fight because that rule of wrapping the hands in front of a member of the opposite team was followed. Margarito was never found guilty of any wrong doing in the Cotto fight. If Margarito was using bricks why did he lose the first 7 rounds? They must have been some pretty soft bricks.

- I agree that Margaritto did take some years off of Cottos carreer, that was a brutal beating, Cotto face was deformed. But Canelo and Margaritto are different. Margiritto comes forward and laughs when you hit him, he did it with Paul Williams, Cotto, Cintron, Sergio Martinez.. Canelo doesnt fight like that. Margaritto doesnt tire either..its pressure non stop, Canelo takes little breaks..

I am not a Mexican and I though Canelo won because he took the fight to Lara and landed the better harder punches.He almost chased Lara out of the ring. Anybody who says Lara didn't run must be blind. He ran like a scared rabbit. Lara landed punches but he was going backward and that takes a lot of power off the punch. Canelo beat him and the majority of non Mexicans agree with the decision. You are just super bias.

Las Vegas - Former two division world champion Bernard Hopkins believes the beating that Miguel Cotto took at the hands of Antonio Margarito will resurface on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay.

Back in July of 2008, Margarito started slow, but came back in the later rounds to severely punish Cotto for a knockout win in the eleventh.

Less than a year later, there was speculation that Margarito loaded his gloves for that bout - after the Mexican veteran was caught with illegal inserts in his hand wraps - prior to his January 2009 showdown with Shane Mosley.
