McGirt - "Tyson will be ready in April"
Mike Tyson could return to action as early as the month of April, according to new trainer Buddy McGirt.
Tyson has been working out at former world champ turn trainer McGirt's gym for the last three weeks and, despite reports that the former champion is depressed and defeatist, wants to resume his in-ring career.
"Mike is working out and is feeling good," McGirt told SecondsOut. "He's looking forward to fighting again,
The world-renowned trainer, a two-time recipient of the SecondsOut Trainer of the Year Award is reluctant to talk in depth about his new charge but said Tyson was in decent shape.
Williams is looking to get back a world ranking after his heavy defeat to WBC champ Vitali Klitschko in December; he would be very interested in a rematch with Tyson. Iron Mike was melted down in four rounds by Danny Williams last July and hasn't fought since.
But McGirt said: "Mike hasn't spoken to me about Williams or whoever. He's just training hard right now but he's not too far off boxing again. We're working on things and he could be ready to fight again in two months if he wants to."
