    Pbc 2015 in Review

So with alle the cards announced, below should be all fights listed under the PBC banner. What's your opinion?
I think, 2015 should be considered as an introduction year, showcasing fighters and new prospects to a broad public and hopefully we get more competitive fights in 2016.

Anthony Dirrell vs Badou Jack and Andre Dirrell vs James Degale where 2 championship fights in the same division, that doesn't happen on other networks and now James Degale is fighting Lucian Bute and Badou Jack fought George Groves, that's a HELL of a schedule for the super middleweight division and also for the other divisions on the 1 year old PBC! Don't forget than Jacobs is also fighting Quillin and Porter is fighting Thurman in the near future.

I know, PBC offered some good fights at 168 and
At 147 you had broner vs porter, thurman vs guerrero and garcia vs peterson (catchweight)

I think Quillin Vs Jacobs is on Showtime and therefore not advertised as a PBC event

Around 25 competitive fights with established fighters involved in 10 months is pretty decent

I'm probably in the minority but I Think it's been a great year being a fan of boxing and most of that's due to the PBC . Running down the list there was about 40 or so fights that I was interested in with about 5-7 that I was really looking forward too

Love the fact that you could watch decent fights on a Wednesday or a Friday

They absolutly murdered HBO in my opinion as far as qaulity matchups and qaunity and I think the 2nd year is going to be even better.

But Haymons killing boxing so f.uck him

Same here. I think its a lil f#cked up we're arguably in the minority (I think arguably cuz I do think there are a lot of fans who give zero f#cks about this networks/PBC vs HBO/Haymon type **** at all).

Love the fact that you could watch decent fights on a Wednesday or a Friday
For sure. Boxing on more nights of the week is beautiful. Its bad for my Tivo, but good for me. I've legit got a backlog of fights that I still wanna see. Its impossible for me to keep up. I don't got all the free time like the days when I was living with moms & dad & I'd rarely miss a Tuesday Night Fights, ESPN, Showtime or HBO boxing show.

I don't agree they merked HBO. They got the silver to HBO's gold this year. HBO gots too many high level guys. I think they put on about as many high level competitive matchups doe. All in all it was a highly impactful year PBC has had & I feel like its just growing & getting better is the problem for competitors.

Whats really gonna be interesting to me is the class of 2016 & how many of them get with Haymon. He's already signed a top US amateur who didn't make the US Olympic trials (Jordan White, 145-15 as an amateur) & one who did who decided not to compete (Chris Colbert, 3-0 as a pro already) in the last 6 months or so. If Haymon gets his hands on most of the top class of 2016 cats plus has all this TV time its gonna be nuts at PBC's influence in 2019 & beyond when those guys start coming into their own.

Great take as usual and I agree with you that most fans don't care where a good fight is being broadcast & that HBO has the more high end talent , got to disagree with you saying HBO won gold

Most of their high end fighters were in mismatches throughout the whole year
              GGG - Murray( decent ) , Monroe ( Mismatch )
Kov - Pascal ( Decent ) Mohemmdi aka French Plumber ( Mismatch )
Lomo - forgot the names he fought but they were mismatches
              Crawford - Dulhorme , Jean. ( Borderline Mismatches )
Klit - Jennings decent match up
              Canelo - inactive Kirkland ( Mismatch )
Chocolito - HBO debut against ?? Was a mismatch

              Bradley / Vargas , Bradley / Rios , Matthysse / Postol , Matthysse / Ruslan
Pascal / Gonzalez = all decent.

I'm sure I forgot some fights and didn't include PPV but I don't really remember too many fights were HBO put on that weren't mismatches especially among the their key guys

For an introductory year, I thought PBC did a very good job.

with the quantity of fights we obviously got a little bit of everything: good fights, bad fights, boring fights, sloppy fights, upsets, surprisingly fun fights etc.

But overall, it's been a disappointment to me. It seems like Haymon's main focus is on controlling boxing and making it a living hell for his competitors to survive.

I wish he focused on making better matchups instead, on less networks.

Look at that list. So many guys got that airtime and a few took advantage of it.

I for one am happy the sport is growing and am being introduced to the new talent and not just the pushed guys
