HOWEVER, if they had given him an extention instead of letting him defend it against Maidana, then that would int turn have delayed tha Pacquiao bout and it might have never happened as a result. So they chose to let him defend the 154 belts against Maidana so they could secure a fight against Pacquiao.

There was an article about this a few months back where the wbc pres explained this in detail, but people don't want to pay entertain those kind of articles because it contradicts their hateful agenda against certain fighters and/organisations.
Thanks for that. Clears it up for me.

I just remember when Bradley was stripped that I was like WTF!

I agree. GGG has no challenge at 160 right now. I feel that at 168 his power and style won't be that effective so he's stuck at 160.

However, GGG may prove me wrong if he ever steps up to 168..

The fight I was interested in was GGG Vs Martinez. Sadly he may have not truly wanted the GGG fight which is understandable since he got better pay vs Chavez Jnr and Cotto.

Also, I like the move, if it means that the WBC champ will finally grow a pair and fight GGG. Seriously, I would have stripped Cotto of the WBC middleweight title when he claimed HE WASNT a middleweight lol

        Cotto still wins though.
he didn't miss weight, it was like an example. because is the same situation of when a champion misses weight, he is stripped of the belt but remains on the table for the challenger (canelo in this case)

I'd rather see GGG move up and test himself than face the dregs of the mw division. ****, George Groves would be a more interesting fight than Tureano Johnson or whatever middling contender GGG will face next.

I find it curious that HBO is pushing so hard to make him a star. Based on the results, it's just not working. Yet they allow him to avoid anything risky that might give serious credibility. The world is round, folks.

I'd be interested in GGG vs Badou Jack. That would be an exciting fight.

If no Cotto/Canelo at 60 then just move up.

Maybe Lee/Saunders for another title but then move up LOL.

Yeah I can stomach Lee-GGG. But that's it. Funny thing is, GGG could well be in a similar situation next year. Still looking for a big fight, still refusing to move up.

I will save this quote when Cotto retires and avoids GGG. Cotto does not want GGG.

Cotto has lost to Marg, Pac, May and Trout. His blue print is out. He sc****d by Mosely too.

Not that I think GGG is exceptional, I just feel that Cotto is beatable.
Who the hell has he fought that has power?

there's a reason why they had absolutely no issues getting fights with murray & monroe jr.... both have less than 10 kos

But they can start by telling the truth. If you too ***** to be a MW, don't fight for MW belts.

One of the main problems with your posts is that you opine in absolute terms without much regard for the gray area in which boxers operate. You talk about "honor" and "cowardice" -- which are easy words to throw around when your favorite fighter is a certifiable destroyer who wants to fight everyone his size or smaller. And, of course, those are also easy words to throw around when you're not the one waking up before dawn every day and brutalizing your body for the sake of your family. I have a feeling that the picture in your avatar was not taken before the sun came up.

That's the preface for me telling you that it's not a matter of boxers "telling the truth" or not telling the truth. Variables and circumstances are constantly changing, and your notion of "truth" is inapplicable (and, of course, irrelevant).

Oh ok, I thought you knew more about the situation. It seems very secretive but I'm thinking it's to do with Cotto not giving his word on whether or not he'll fight GGG next and Canelo willing to do that.

I'm certain David Lemieux hits harder than Cotto.
