I hate when lineals vacate or are stripped.... it leaves the lineal title vacant ..there are some lineal titles that have been vacant since Pac moved up, according to bscene ratings anyway.

Cotto remains lineal champ even though he doesn't hold any of the sanctioning body's belts.

If Canelo wins, he becomes lineal.

Otherwise Cotto remains lineal until he retires/moves down to 154/becomes inactive at 160.

Cotto should have been stripped of his title but, again, I'm concerned with regards to how they reached their decision. I think this is the second time a Rock Nation fighter was not afforded the same advantages given to fighters from other promotional companies (Ward's fight previously cancelled). If the pattern continues, it will strengthen my belief that the other promotional companies have been around the block long enough to know whom to bribe.
