Cotto weighed 153.6lbs for his last fight; he is not a middleweight.

He most likely would've vacated after the Canelo fight but what does it matter? He won the lineal middleweight championship, and also defended it. He's already made history by becoming champion in 4-weight classes.

I wouldn't want to watch Cotto-Golovkin; size mismatch.

This should give Cotto motivation to down Canelo even more.

You cannot strip Cotto of the lineal middleweight championship unless he leaves the division. The only other ways of getting it would be by defeating him or retirement. He is still the true, lineal champion of the middleweight division.

Yeah, good job. WBC still has Floyd Mayweather as their Jr Middleweight champion from when he won it in 2013. And at a catch weight too. Lol he even later got credited as defending it when he fought Maidana the second time even though they fought at welterweight. WBC is a joke. Lol it's ok though.
