As for WBC being a non profit organisation, where do the funds come from when they issue diamond belts?

I've never heard any alphabet group being a non-profit.

If every title fight costs the same sanction fee then they must be making a profit or loss

They get 3% of the fighters purses who are involved in title fights so basically the more money you make the more they get (if there are multiple titles on the line I've heard the % being discussed & a deal made instead of 12% being taken if you hold all 4 major belts). Thats why I'm a lil surprised by this move & would love to know the details of this decision just to understand the alphabet groups a lil better.

I'd expect gg camp to sue the WBC if he doesn't face the winner/ title holder next.
They won't be able to pull the wilder **** as gg doesn't have a fight scheduled

No I don't feel bad for Golovkin about not getting a big fight vs Canelo or Cotto because he denied Ward one after saying he would beat anyone from 154-168. He would only go to 168 for Froch or Chavez. Ward had to be at 164. Because Golovkin is the A-Side. See, when you do that, you get no pity from me when the same thing happens to you.

Kind of crazy how it's happened so close to the fight. Not sure what the reason is, but i get the impression that it's something Cotto knew was coming and isn't too fussed about. Who knows though?

I'm not sure it makes too much difference to Golovkin, as it seemed clear cut the winner wasn't going to face him anyway.

Didn't pay sanction fee!!! But I believe it was the right thing to do. He don't need the belt now, plus he has no intention to fight GGG, I don't blame him for that, specially at this stage of his career. Now, GGG will have his belt, unless he agrees to meet Canelo (if he happens to win) @ 155. Now, it'll be even harder for Cotto to win a decision, specially if the fight is close!!!

It's from the WBC issued statement, they claim they're a non profit organisation
Unless they meant they remove all funds thus showing no profit

I understand why they stripped him but do it after the fight? then its ok, this if cotto wins he isnt recognised but if canelo he is champ is BS is annoying. Dont mind him being stripped after but before is pure BS.

Feels like some ruffle the feathers type **** with cotto to throw him off as its in their interest for Canelo to win.
