Eddie Hearn is delighted to announce that Heavyweight sensation Anthony Joshua MBE has signed a new exclusive three-year promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing.

The Olympic gold medal hero has raced to 14-0 in the paid ranks with 14 devastating KOs under the guidance of Hearn, and has penned the new deal ahead of headlining his the sold-out event on December 12 at The O2 in London where he faces bitter amateur rival Dillian Whyte for the British and Commonwealth titles.

I truly hope he has what it takes to get to the top, his level of opponents is pretty on par if you compared all current champs at 2 years, maybe not loma, but by not rushing, and getting all of the belts on the way to world championship fights, its an ideal promotion cash cow as every fight is a level up, and a title fight. Erkan Teper next hopefully, once Whyte is dispatched and that 'loss' avenged.

If Joshua keeps moving like he's been moving & can win on the elite level like this this should be his last promotional deal. He can start his own promotional arm (which he should be doing right now during this new deal tbh) &/or just freelance himself out to the highest bidder on a fight by fight basis by the time he's 28 & potentially world champion. He can do like Mayweather did with GBP for a time & maximizes his income.

Interestingly Hearn has been throwing many of his fighters on PBC cards over the last several months so its possible a Wilder vs Joshua fight could be one of the easily makeable notable name HW fights to make when Joshua is ready for a title fight (assuming Wilder still gots a belt by then).

Hope they don't still have that exclusive rights to his image deal in the contract this time, im sure he wasnt allowed to grow his afro because of that part in the contract (like some mandingo warrior bull****). Now i want to see the real Anthony Joshua, you know that guy is a nasty piece of work, be good to see his real side come out at press conferences.

Man I really hope Dillian lands something on AJ and derails the hype-train I can't stand the fake attitude of AJ and that smug w@nker Eddie Hearn.

            Why?

There's so much involved in promoting yourself, and so many expenses included as well. It's not as easy and many problems come up.

I'd stay with a big promotor for as long as he can. Just get a better deal.

I'm not saying he should do it if he can't find the right people to handle it for him. But clearly if he can become some Mike Tyson-like entity in boxing he doesn't need a long term deal with a promoter.

Lotsa guys can promote fights at a high level not just Hearn. If you've gotten a name for yourself, which Joshua seems to be on the path of doing, you can just freelance yourself out by fight to whoever is willing to pay the most (& can obviously do the job) & not be contractually obligated to any one group. If that person who's willing to pay the most on a fight by fight basis is still Hearn far enough. I got nothing against Hearn.

                Not going to happen...yet.

Whyte is wide open for shots. He won't make it beyond 3.

I agree, especially in the UK. If he fought on a few American PPV cards and got a following there, and a possible fight deal with one of the large broadcasters, then going alone could make sense.

He's really marketable. Hearn should be trying to get him out on a US card next year.

Yeah sadly I expect that to be the case, not unless Whytes chin is the equivalent of a heavyweights version of Carl Froch.

I don't buy into too much on what happen in the amateurs either but when AJ wins its just gonna spark even more hype.
