Hopefully Cotto will not allow this to be a distraction. I don't see why the WBC couldn't have just waited until after the fight. If Cotto had won, they could strip him then. If Canelo had won, it wouldn't matter. I doubt it's as simple as Cotto not wanting to pay the sanctioning fee, but I imagine we'll find out soon enough.

Even if the belt doesn't mean that much to Cotto, it's pretty lame that this happened on fight week.

Cotto is going to drown himself trying to drown Canelo.

If I was Cotto, I'd make my own belt and wear it that nigh. WHO gives a **** about belts?? Go to party city, get one and wear it. No difference!

As I saw it, Canelo's performance in the Mayweather fight isn't one which Oscar should use defending Canelo. Canelo averaged less than 10 punches landed per round 117/12 = 9.75 especially as Floyd landed 19.33 per round and was just shy of doubling the number of total punches landed per round by Canelo (Floyd = 232 total landed and Saul = 117 landed).
