His comments are surprising as I cannot recall him kicking his advesaries when they're down. When Pacquiao got knocked out, he gave a similar statement; when De La Hoya entered rehab, he wished him well.

He gets venomous about their setbacks when they, or the media uses them, to go on the offence.

I noticed that as well. Ronda has more fans on BoxingScene for jabbing Mayweather than she does anywhere else I've been. Hardcore MMA fans actually seem to dislike her quite a bit.
