I 100% agree. There's no reason why the winner shouldn't fight this man. It makes perfect sense. Unfortunately I feel like cotto wouldn't take the fight... I know Canelo will that's why I'm pulling for Canelo this sat!!!

So back to the question would the WBC want the $$$$ from a cotto/canelo rematch that will get another 1 million buys or ggg/Lee/Tureno 97k ppv buys.
My money is on them letting cotto/canelo keeping the belt. Wanna bet???

only way I see the Cotto-GGG fight if Cotto vacates the belt and wants the ggg fight anyway but at a catchweight.

Do you realize that GGG versus Canelo would be way bigger than the Cotto fight.
It'd be the biggest fight since PAC versus Mayweather.
So even by your own logic it doesn't make sense.
And fighters pay a sanctioning fee.

I admit a Canelo / ggg fight would be huge! I'm just gonna watch this weeks fight first. If either one smokes the other then theirs nowhere to go but to ggg. If they fight a close, entertaining fight worthy of a rematch I have no problem them doing that. In fact it's rumored the fight took so long to sign was because cotto wanted a rematch clause. Which they probably have.

PPV proceeds are usually outside of the purse.
What WBC rules are you referring to, care to share it?

I really do think that win lose or draw, Cotto retires after this fight. The only exception is if it's razor close and there is a rematch. Canelo can fight GGG. Cotto's had a long career and has been in many tough fights.

Each organization has their own fees and bs of course. I brought this one up because it's the belt in question.

If Alvarez wins and De La Hoya decides that he wants Alvarez to fight three voluntary opponents before fighting Golovkin, Sulaiman will approve it and announce before each fight that an internal agreement has been reached. If Cotto wins and decides to do the same thing, Sulaiman will declare Cotto the Super Champion and give Golovkin the regular WBC title based on an internal agreement.
Alvarez held the WBC belt at 154 pounds for three years without ever fighting a mandatory opponent. I guess he reached an internal agreement for all of those voluntary defenses. When Julio Chavez Jr. held the WBC 160-pound title, he avoided his mandatory opponent, Sergio Martinez, for two years. I guess he had an internal agreement. Deontay Wilder is fighting his third voluntary opponent since winning the WBC heavyweight title. He must have an internal agreement, and will likely have an internal agreement for at least one more voluntary opponent before he is forced to vacate his title after refusing to fight Povetkin.
No different than the current situation with Wilder-Povetkin; both guys are due to fight each other, Wilder had his fight in his hometown in September, Povtekin had his own show in November, Team Povetkin believes that they won't be ready by January, so they've agreed to move their defense back to the Spring, with Wilder taking a voluntary come January 2016.
