  • Comments Thread For: Mosley: Cotto's Ability To Adjust Will Overcome Canelo

Shane Mosley is a common opponent for Miguel Cotto and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. On November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Canelo will challenge Cotto for the WBC middleweight championship in the main event of an HBO Pay-Per-View.

Mosley believes the experience and the ability to adapt is going to be the difference in the Puerto Rican veteran's ability to pull off the victory over the young Mexican superstar.

Mosley fought Cotto in 2007, at the welterweight limit, and he lost a very close twelve round unanimous decision. The scores were 115-113, 116-113 and 115-113 in favor of the Caguas native.

His ability to adjust? Are you ****n kidding me? When has Cotto adjusted? He had a caveman Margarito in front of him and he couldn't even keep him off of him.

Cotto is a great fighter but his ability to adjust isn't one of the reasons. He has a sneaky ass left hook, he's strong as ****, and he's good on his feet. But adjusting isn't his thing. I think Mosley has been smoking cheap meth. I dare say again? (Maybe, he's off his rocker.)

Either that or he thinks that because Cotto and him had a tough fight that Cotto somehow adjusted in that fight to beat Mosley. Where as Canelo easily outboxed Mosely in 1st gear, so Mosely didn't bring anything great out of Canelo he was destroyed by the basic version.

    One of the two.

Miguel is versatile enough to have two distinct modes stik-n-move and pressure

Saul seems to always be in counterpuncher mode

All Cotto has to do is stick and move he won't have to adjust Canelo is nothing special and hasn't improved since his loss to Mayweather ..Unless Cotto just brawls there should be no reason for him Not to win this comfortably.

"Its a fight that can go either way, but I think that Cotto has a SLIGHT advantage becuase of his experience and becuase he can adapt in the fight as needed as well. Canelo has potential... but Cotto has been around longer..." - Shane Mosley

^^^^^I am rooting for Cotto (of course) and not to sound BIASED but this right here is the best fight prediction I have read so far.... specially coming from a guy who stepped in the ring with BOTH Canelo and Cotto

Cotto and Roach vs. Canelo and his Cooks... Im leaning on a more experience coach with a more experienced fighter, Canelo has the youth going for him and less damage..

                Cotto isn't a 1 dimensional fighter

I don't think so either, but c'mon bro. Is adjusting really the reason he's a great fighter and has had the success he's had? That's not how I see it. He's gotten to where he's gotten because he's a bad ass and is generally the superior talent in the ring...not because he's an adjustment wizard.

Don't get it twisted, Cotto is and has been one of my favorite fighters. I just think he's in over his head come next Saturday night. But that's why they fight the fights homie! Anything can happen. Wooooooooooooo!!!
