Was there ever a boxer like Wlad?

Everyone thought after the Brewster loss Wlads career is over and that he didnt have the mentality to be a Champion but despite this he became one of the most dominant champions in the history of boxing. You also have guys like Judah who couldnt overcome it and never reached their full potential.

Hopkins lost both his first fight and his fight against Jones when both were unknown, so him.

Bob Foster has already been mentioned.

Hagler lost twice early in his career and was robbed vs. Antuofermo and went on to be the greatest middleweight to ever lace up the gloves.

Go back further Jose Napoles, Emile Griffith, Monzon lost 3 times early in his career before dominating the division, Manny Pacquiao is a pretty bloody big one was KO'd twice early in his career, Alexis Arguello lost 4 times (KO'd twice) before he ever won a world title.

In a complete class of his own really.

Lennox and Vitali were close but Wladimir went a step further and kind of totally redefined boxing.

There has never been such a flawless display of boxing ever and I think it's fair to say that there likely will be nothing to match it in relative terms for around 100 years or so.

            Unbelievable career!

jones and hopkins were not unknown, how do you come up with this chit. jones also was in the olympics, he was never an unknown from his first day as a pro.

Lewis is the closest one ....no giant over 6'5 with actual skills existed really...Hes as talented offensively as weve seen at HW.

Was there anyone like him? not really when you see his speed and power combined with skill.

Jack Dempsey was KTFO early in his career and had about 6 losses before he won the title. Jack Johnson lost before he won the title.

In the modern era fighters are marketed too quickly and don't learn their craft in dark bouts like in the old days. So when so someone gets exposed like Morrison or Briggs did it blows up in their face and their momentum gets halted.
