  • Comments Thread For: Gilbero Ramirez Gives Abraham The Edge Over Murray

Gilberto Ramirez is fully focused on his November 20 showdown with Netherlands’ Gevorg Khatchikian, but can’t help but be aware of all that surrounds his next fight.

The unbeaten super middleweight contender from Mexico headlines on the next edition of Metro PCS Friday Night Knockout on truTV, which airs live from The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. It helps kick off a major fight weekend in Las Vegas, highlighted one night later by the HBO Pay-Per-View headliner between World middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Abraham is physically stronger than most opponents he faces and that has proved the vital factor in some of his wins but Murray is a strong guy too and is suited very well by having stepped up to 168. Murray is way better than Paul Smith who imo out-busied Abraham in their first fight although he clearly lost the rematch. If Abraham fights lazy and just relies on burst here and there, as is usually the case, he's going to have a problem and may find himself needing a KO late on despite home judges likely handing him a three rounds advantage before the fight even starts. Murray knows all about that sort of thing already. Abraham won't fold, so to win this Murray has to start well and sustain the effort for the full dozen, no coasting. Stands to be an entertaining fight, whatever. Circumstances mean Murray is up against it but I do believe he's good enough to pull it off.

Murray just seems to be one of those hard luck story guys, what with the Martinez and Sturm fights. Abraham is as close to a national hero as it gets in Germany, imo that's what is going to be decisive.

I feel you on that man, Murray was mugged off in Argentina and Germany with Sturm the guy wont catch a break he will really need to fuq AA up badly to get the win and even then I still have my doubts on the Germans giving him the nod, he's an uncrowned champion the only guy who properly beat him is GGG.
