Why Khan vs García II is the fight that has to be next

1= They are ranked #1 & #2 by the WBC

2= Both are in desperate need of credibility. Khan has a chance to avenge his loss and DSG has a chance to prove that his KO of Amir wasn't a fluke.

3= Winner would be the new WBC 147 champion and would have their carreer back on track after recent forgettable performances (See Khan/Algiero, Garcia/Malignaggi etc)

The reward is very high but the risk is very high also, a loss for Khan be it via points or KO would put him in a very, very dark space in his carreer.

A loss for DSG would only add to his questionable carreer, people would start saying that he got lucky on the first fight when he KO'ed Amir and so on.

I am praying to God Al that this fight is made next!

They should've honestly fought in December. Khan prefers to wait for Pacquaio though while Garcia is content facing subpar competition.

You have to understand one thing though. They do not pick their opponents. Al Haymon & his team do.

You think Danny or Khan aren't anxious to test their skills against the best fighters in the world? of course they want it, it's just that they gotta follow Al's plan, wich includes a few mismatches in between the great fights. (See Khan/Alexander, Garcia/Peterson)

Well, one must think, given Khan's past history of 9 career knock downs suffered, DSG's KO was not a fluke.

No, I understand that Haymon controls their careers. But I'm saying Garcia seems to be content fighting subpar competition. Khan's been asking for Mayweather/Pacquiao so I don't have as much of a problem (though he's avoided some fights to secure bigger fights).

I would love to see it too but they have both become awful cherry pickers since hiring Haymon and are probably scared of each another.

Yep. The winner of this should fight the winner of Thurman vs Porter.

                Exactly!

                This should happen:

Khan vs García II for the WBC title

Thurman vs Porter for the WBA title

                Brook vs Bradley IBF/WBO unification

Amir Khan doesn't want that work; same reason why he's likely not fighting Kell Brook anytime soon.

Khan is looking for at least one more big payday before he puts his beard back on the line.

Khan beating Brook, Thurman or Porter would put him back in the mix.
