You've gotta give big props to Roc Nation Sports. Of their three big signings, two of the fighters have gained the unmarketable tag in the boxing community. They've managed to place themselves in the second biggest fight of 2015 with Cotto vs. Alvarez. They got Ward the new HBO deal on the grounds of putting on Ward vs. Kovalev in 2016. And now they have Rigondeaux to challenge either Lomachenko or Gonzalez. HBO can say that they don't want Rigo all they want, but if Big Bob wants to make it, it will happen. And we all know that Big Bob loves to try to take out his ex fighters with his current ones. All in all, they've aligned themselves with several fights to take place on HBO. In a little over two years of business, any promotion company would love to say that they have a working relationship with HBO.

Well, overtaking any promoter sounds like a stretch right now. They are signing established 30 year olds, but they need to sign prospects and build them up from scratch. A good promoter will take an amateur and build him up to be a solid pro, and this promoter will do this frequently, with other up and comers. Do you know how many guys did Top Rank and GBP take from scratch and build them up? Most of our favorite fighters MW and below are a product of TR and GBP.Comment

Except 50 cent didn't have guys like Itskowitch and Yormark. Roc Nation seems to know what it's doing, whereas SMS was just throwing money at fighters without any underlying plan.Comment
