Comments Thread For: Frank Warren Wants To Make Jamie Cox-Callum Smith

Jamie Cox and Callum Smith is a terrific domestic dust-up – so let’s get it on!

Domestic dust-ups are the lifeblood of British boxing, and have been since fighting men first pulled on the gloves – then called ‘mufflers’ - in 18th century. Even before then, when combatants bare-knuckled down to it in roped-off meadows and the estates of the landed gentry.

Unfortunately these days pairing home-grown rivals is not as easy as it once was but when they happen there is no greater atmosphere in the arena or lick-lipping anticipation among the fans.

Identical records? Smith's record is way better than cox who's yet to face a half-decent fighter. Warren doesn't half chat some ****e.

Jamie Cox really impressed me when he was boxing on Skysports all those years ago and I believe he could have gone on to challenge for world titles if he had his head screwed on straight.

If I'm honest, his career has been so stop and start that I had no idea he was still boxing. If Jamie Cox has any fire left in his belly, a fight against Callum Smith would be very competitive.

The only problem is, that **** Hearn doesn't do competitive fights.
