Comments Thread For: Jacobs: You'll See More of My Arsenal Against Quillin

Daniel Jacobs will be stepping up in competition when he faces Peter Quillin in a battle of Brooklyn middleweights fittingly taking place at Barclays Center on a Dec. 5 card airing on Showtime.

Sometimes a step up in competition means what we’ve seen from a boxer before won’t work as well against a higher class of opponent. But Jacobs believes this step up will actually allow him to show more than what he’s been able to in the past.

Jacobs is a glass jawed moron that got a seriously dodgy victory over Mora, the feather fisted guy that had jelly legs sandcastle chin quitter Jacobs falling around like Bambi on ice.

Quillin just needs to land once and it's over. GGG would have Jacobs fighting as scared as as that guy that hit the canvas from a whiff of air from Tysons glove.

Fight itself is good, but the fact its for the WBA MW "World" title is what bother I'm surely any one.

I can not understand the distaste for Jacobs. Outside of the Mora fight, he is often a very articulate, soft spoken, kind and intilligent guy; on top of that a person who did survive death at his door... How the hell can you hate that story? The man also enjoys to throw and give good fights.

Personally I find Jacobs and Quillin being a very close fight, Quillin may connect on something good but lacks the output to "Destroy" Jacobs as some fans insist. Jacobs has a more active work rate with good inside work. Although I have yet to see Quillin seriously hurt, Jacobs will show us that. Jacobs by 11th round KO

Everything you said is true, Danny's a real likable guy. However he's just not durable and kills himself to get down to 160lbs. Quillin's overhand right is like a lightning bolt, very fast and very hard. I see Danny being open for it and I don't see him recovering from it.

Unless Jacobs develops a chin from somewhere, this is a fight that Quillin should be winning with ease

If Quillin is a B-level fighter, you can safely assume Jacobs is a level below, no matter what his paper WBA title says. Its a shame really as I really respect him as a person - he's just not that good.
