should Boxers/MMA Fighters be considered role models?

Most of these guy fight for a living taking head shot in fights and sparring. Most of these guys come from poverty and have some sort of violent reaction. So why should society view them as role models? Back then The Roman Gladiator were not seen as role model but as savage fighters....thoughts?

PS most fighter tend to be hot heads violent or some sort of bipolar....

IMO society shouldn't look at these guy as role models as other athletes.

Bernard and Floyd are exemplify dedication, discipline, and professionalism. These are all important qualities for anyone that's making something of themselves.

These fighters serve as a reminder to always use your head.

If they are good roll models they should. If they aren't good roll models then they shouldn't. The best boxers in the world may or not be people to looked up to for their conduct outside the ring. The great Carlos Monzon murdered his wife so he is not a good roll model. Marvin Hagler is a great role model.
