Comments Thread For: WBA Names Golovkin Boxer of the Month For October

For as long as he’s arrived on the title stage, Gennady Golovkin has set out to face the best middleweights in the world. He finally landed a covered title unification bout in October – and it resulted in not just another belt to add to his collection, but yet another honor in an ever-growing list.

The unbeaten unified middleweight titlist was named the Boxer of the Month for October 2015 by the World Boxing Association (WBA). Golovkin has held the organization’s middleweight title since August 2010, with his win over David Lemieux serving as the 15th defense of said crown. [Click Here To Read More]

I guess this makes up for all those years the WBA refused to enforce Golovkin's mandatory shot vs Felix Sturm.

Scoping out Texas. Their like if Canelo doesn't live up to he lofty standards of De La Hoya's letter to Floyd, many in Texas will be looking to GGG as a fan fav. Why not fight his his own backyard.

Couple questions: Who was the fighter of the month for September? Do the other boxing organizations do the same? How long has the WBA been doing this? Why no mention of all the past years fighters of the month in any other weight classes? I think this is why people feel like their being forced to like this guy. Fighter of the month, really?
I'm ready for the backlash, I know what happens when you post here.

TBH guys really good, just don't need HBO, Boxing Scene and now the WBA to tell me that every day. I get it, he's good
