Yea - but there's the old "styles make fights" part of it. Mayweather, Trout and Lara are all skillful, to understate it, but none of them has Cotto's power. So while Canelo may be the strongest fighter Cotto has faced, Cotto has a unique combination of skill and power that Canelo has not seen yet either.

In terms of power Kirkland and Angulo are both above Cotto.

Kirkland and Angulo represent the other side of the spectrum (from Floyd, Trout and Lara). They have the power but are limited in terms of skill and technique. Cotto is far more skilled than they are.

I became a Cotto believer during the Mosely fight. That's when I started to believe that he was truly elite because he was able to make adjustments in the middle of the fight and show a facet of his game that I didn't know he had. I also admire the fact that he's basically made a career out of fighting bigger men.

I began to lose my faith after the Trout fight. I thought he was done after that and am glad he regained his focus. Brilliant matchmaking always helps, of course, but it's been an exciting renaissance. But you're right...we'll know a lot more after Nov. 21.

I'm sure that Roach is preparing him for that. That's why I say Cotto won't be surprised. Whether Cotto can actually handle it is a different story...but he'll be as prepared as possible.

You mentioned "advanced" testing earlier in the message, but then you made a much broader statement. You later admitted being unaware that they had agreed to USADA testing.

My point stands: you shouldn't be throwing around slanderous allegations without having some command of the basic facts. It's disrespectful to the fighter, it's disrespectful to the sport and it undermines the quality of the conversation.

Smh...

Cotto has looked great over his last 3 fights however against lack luster competition. Canelo if we're being honest fought Trout to a draw, lost to Mayweather (no shame there) and lost to Lara. So when Canelo has stepped up he's been outclassed. Cotto getting knocked out by hands of plaster Margacheato and fighting weight drained against Pacroid doesn't really mean much. Cotto really has only lost to Floyd and Trout in many eyes. I'm picking Cotto on experience however Canelo is a crisp puncher....tough to call fight.

You say many questionable things here. You call Manny "pacroid". You say that "Canelo fought Trout to a draw"? He lost to Lara? You don't sound too bright as a fight fan. Canelo beat Trout clearly. Last time I checked, Trout was the one on ***** street from a well calculated punch. Smh. And Canelo beat Lara also, if you know how to score a fight. It was a close fight but Lara moved too much after doing well the first 3-4 rounds. Canelo adjusted and got the victory. And people are STILL calling Manny names. Grow up. If Manny is pacroid, what do you call Floyd?
