IMO light heavyweight is currently and in next couple of years the most exicting division....here's my Top 5 currently based on skills & talent....
1.Kovalev
2.Beterbiev
3.Stevenson
4.Andre Ward
5.Fonfara
Honorable Mention: Chavez Jr & Marcus Browne

I think a tournament between them would end like this:

Kovalev
Open to speculation: Tie between Beterbiev/Ward
Hopkins
Current Pascal

Stevenson would be no 6, boxes too dumb to beat Ward or Hopkins, outgunned by Kovalev and Beterbiev

Close fight with Pascal, depends on how much damage Pascal takes after Kovalev KOs him twice

It's more impressive than sad. Fonfara, Beterbiev, Gonzalez and Chilemba are all solid (one potentially great) fighters and Ring doesn't rank them in the top 5.

It's not like it's a dead division. Hopkins just did good work the past few years.

I don't think he's going to come back to 175 though. Froch vs Hopkins would be a perfect farewell fight for both of them.

I'd have Kovalev in the number 1 spot. Then Stevenson and Fonfara.
Beterbiev, Pascal and Gonzalez are fighting it out for the next positions i feel.

Some good fights to be made there.

I don't think any of them have much of a chance against Kovalev. To me he seems to be clearly the best by a large margin. Ward would be my number 2 light heavyweight. Stevenson would be the 3rd best. I consider Hopkins sort of retired. He was very good until recently. He lost by shutout to Kovalev who seemed to carry him in the late rounds out of respect. He hasn't fought since then and at 50 I am not sure what he has left. Pascal and Fonfara are close. I'll go with Fanfara because of Pascal's anemic amount of punches thrown per round. I have never seen Beterbiev fight so I can rate him until I watch some film of him. Chavez is certainly not in my top 5 or even top 10 175 pounders. I really don't know the weight class as well as I would like. I can only watch who they put on the channels I get.
