Andrea's "offer" when they opened the envelope went something like.
In Oakland
75/25 for me cos I'm a big star (lmao, GGG is way bigger)
My parents are the judges
My Uncle is the ref
If my period comes early, I can cancel and postpone for a few years.
Get real. Which guy will fight anyone, fights 4 x yearly, and is keeping boxing real?
Which guy is a delusional, bum slaying bore, who lies about what he will do?
Anyone with eyes can see which guy is a fighter and which one is a talker.
As of this a.m. I see that BoxRec.com has dropped Andre Ward to number 21 on their P4P ranking; they are adjusting to Ward's diminished capacity.
You said, "walk through Ward's punches." I said that I'd have to see it to believe that Ward had enough of a punch to hurt GGG, and as I made clear, I wasn't talking about GGG being an immobile target (implying that in a fight with GGG that I would have to see Ward hurt GGG to believe that he could do it). And I will not retract that opinion. GGG is too complete a boxer for Ward's limited power. Ward couldn't stop Carl Froch, Ward hasn't a chance of stopping GGG.
Firstly, P4P is irrelevant.
Secondly, if for some reason you require a more relevant/accurate P4P list look somewhere else, boxrec uses an algorithm.
Try the Ring, it's compiled manually using.... you know, boxing knowledge.
But yea, P4P really is meaningless.
Just curious..... did Mayweather " hurt " Pacquiao in their fight ?
In their one-sided fight ?
The reason why knowledgable insiders/fans rate Ward so highly is because they know whats up.
Haydarov did (back in 2004); and Boone did (back in 2006)...
Therefore I wonder how difficult would be for Kovalev to "walk through Ward's punches" or even for Golovkin... But wait! Ward just said he can make 175 only after cutting weight -- so you should rule Golovkin out for good.
No, they did not walk through Wards punches at all.

Yes, Floyd hurt Manny early in the fight (3rd and 5th round if memory serves), and I believe that it was enough hurt that Manny was affected by it (Manny was too tentative at crucial exchanges) for the remainder of the fight. As for Manny's injured shoulder, if he had it, he had it, but regardless Manny fought and lost to Floyd last May 2nd.
Also, I agree that P4P is meaningless, but some of Andre Ward's most ardent fans seem to believe that his P4P ranking is more important in assessing his career than anything else. And as for "The Ring" I have for that for years now it has been of questionable value. In fact ever since the Ali-Liston rematch in Lewiston, Maine where Ring magazine founder and editor Nat Fleischer, interfered with/overruled referee Jersey Joe Walcott and his decision to allow the fight to continue.
Already knew that you're in no rush to fight Kovalev, but thanks for the confirmation Andre lol. This guy's been such a big let down since the Super 6, just a big disappointment. He also refers to the Pacquiao Mayweather fiasco as reason why they should wait, well *** you too Ward. I've lost a lot of respect for Ward since the super 6. Despite the fact that he was the only fighter who didn't fight in a foreign country and had the easiest ride, I still respected him and had high expectations of him. smh such a waste.
