Mike Tyson. If this dude was boxing in the internet era, he would have shattered all record including that of Floyd vs Pac.

He would be derided for being a ducker or a flat track bully if he was boxing in the internet age

But that's not to say he wouldn't be breaking PPV records.

All things considered I would say Mike Tyson, his overwhelming popularity in comparison to his achievements and longevity (not that I'm devaluing them on the whole) is testament to that.

He was still hated then, but his fights were a "must see".

Jones? Huh? No one outside the boxing faithful liked watching him.

Kovalev and GGG are good picks currently but remember Pacquiao isn't retired just yet and is probably the most "fan friendly" fighter out there.

Let's not forget Morales and to a lesser extent MAB, as well as Oscar or Tyson or Holyfield.

I'd put Khan up there too, cos you know, his fights are hardly dull. Bradley has really upped his game since the ugly fights he had with the likes of Witter or DA.

Lomachenko may be...but he has to fight better opponents.

Almost forgot Donaire, Frampton and Mares in the lower divisions.

People were less scathing and appreciative of boxers back then. of course he would have had his 'haterz' but nothing like what it would have been like today

Now it's not even one loss and you're a bum - it's one bad performance.

From a British point of view there is a view I can definitely think of...

                  Joe Calzaghe
                  Naseem Hamed
                  Ricky Hatton
                  Carl Froch
                  Nigel Benn

I agree. It the newbies, though.
