Sorry, but the half white thing is BS excuse. Ward may be half white, but he appears to be black and that's what people go by. Let's not even go that route. Golovkin is half Russian/white and half Central Asian, not black, and looks Russian and his last name sounds Russian. Ward looks black, and has a common American name in Andre. But forget the names, it's the looks and you know that. Let's not even go there. Wlad can be half black, nobody would care, they'll accept him as their very own white man because there's nothing black about his looks. There's nothing white about Ward's looks. Point, Golovkin looks like the average Russian, Ward looks like the average black man.

I thought we were talking about the networks?

HBO is about selling tickets and making money, you either do or you dont. GGG and Kovalev came over and fought for peanuts and gathered a respectable audience though their talent, their styles and their attitude, not their skin colour.

Do you really genuinly think that GGG gets more opportunities as a white Eastern Euro than he would as a black american? What if Wlad was Black and American would get any less attention than he does now?

Al Haymon has the majority of black american boxers on his stable and they were all doing fine on HBO until that relationship broke down. Guys like Broner and Berto were being pushed constantly as being the next stars of boxing.

Whether people want to admit it or not, there are those that subscribe to belief in a racial hierarchy. At the top of the hierarchy would be white people and at the bottom of the list would be black people. A person who subscribes to that theory would gladly support asian fighter over a black fighter.

The proof is in the pudding. You just need to look at some of the racists pieces of **** on this site and how certain racist slurs saw a spike when Mayweather emerged victorious.
Who lets this racist piece of excrement post.

Andre ward and floyd are vile unlikable fighters, golovkin, sergey and wladimir is approachable charming champions. It has nothing to do with race.

Okay they should both move up, and Ward already signed the contract that will see him fighting Kovalev. But why is HBO giving one guy a contract only if he moves up and fights the best guy in the weight class above, but keeping the other guy protected and fighting JMW's coming up in weight? Be open minded, ask why, it's okay to ask why and see things from both sides. It's okay to cross from the white side to the black side, and from the black side to the white side. It's okay to stand in the grey area and analyze the situation from both sides and try to make sense out of it all.

Both undefeated, yet they are going the extra mile to keep one guy's 0, and increase the chances of the other guy losing it. It's a natural question to ask, being curious is part of being human. Being intentionally naive is not a good thing.
Only conspiracy going on is trolls & black guys that were raised by parents with a victim mentality. If you don't correct it then your children will grow up with the same mentality.
Gg is mandatory for the WBC, that's what he's waiting on.
Lee has said he'll fight Golovkin as soon as he gets his mandatory out the way. That's 2 belts & potentially 2 fights for gg at the weight.
A chance to hold all the marbles in a division that goes back decades.
Ward has no fights at 168. He cleaned it out years ago & had nothing to wait on. It's been mentioned by many but conviently ignored that had ward remained active there'd be less said.
He didn't want Bute, didn't want dirrell & didn't want to travel to UK for Froch rematch(on record as saying why should he travel).
It's that simple & the only thing of note regarding black & white is in the ink its recorded in. Facts.

Ward has done nothing for years, nobody wanted him moving up when he signed with jay-z, people felt they'd see him fighting again & becoming an ATG.
Instead he's constantly looked for tune-ups.
He's known as Mr tune-up, no racial slurs attached to that.

SRL( a black guy ) & ATG returned after 5 years & fought the meanest fighter out there in Hagler. That's why SRL is loved & an ATG.

Everything else is pish & weak arguments

As for Floyd the guy suffers from little man syndrome. He's on record saying he was risk adverse, "not risking my health"
Now he's saying he took risks?
Gtfoh. Floyd made a ton of cash & still has no class. It's the 1 thing he can't buy

                  • There is no point rebutting his points because the contradictions and ******ity are clear. He's even saddling up to Ward, a guy he was taking pot-shots at a couple of years ago. He doesn't give a **** about Andre Ward.

I wonder what the reaction would be if Golovkin came out and said that PBC was trying to create artificial black stars.

                    • I don't think HBO " made " Ward move up.

They made him a great offer and he accepted..... is far more likely.

If Ward did not want to move up, he would stay at 168, simple.

I definitely think that it was in HBO's best interests for Ward to move up.

Ward staying at 168 really restricted Golovkin's options..... Golovkin won't fight Ward, and he can't fight a 68lb'er without receiving a million questions asking why he won't fight Ward.

And what happened immediately after Ward committed to 175 ?

Team Golovkin suddenly start calling for Froch again

The way I see it, HBO had to factor Ward in somewhere, Kovalev is apparently willing to fight him, and HBO value Golovkin more than they value Kovalev.

I don't see any big conspiracy theory here.

Although a few days ago I watched a Hopkins interview, and Bhop made a great point about GGG's apple deal. You got better fighters, more established, who are GREAT role models, like Bradley/Ward..... and yet no black fighter has ever received a deal like that..... EVER !

The " ever " part really surprised me.

There may be nothing in that, but I'm not from the US so I wouldn't really know..... but there seems to be more truth in that than there is in Mayweather's comments.
