Ward would have to play the bad guy and most likely sell the fight by himself....maybe a BHop type comment about never losing to white boy would give the ppv numbers a boost!!....but if they just play good guy vs good guy, the general public aka casual fans won't buy it....the drama show would need some drama before the show
Ward vs GGG how many ppvs does it do?

No it means the matchup is a draw
That's pretty simple stuff Larry. You can start calling fighters a decent draw when they are able to sell PPV with matchups that are actually pretty awful. Look at Floyd-Berto/Guerrero, Manny-Algieri, Canelo-Angulo, or when they are consistently selling good PPVs.
Ward would be a draw if he could sell even despite awful opponents, but we know he can't even sell with big name ones. GGG isn't a draw yet either, but 150k against a complete no-hoper without a name actually isn't that bad if you're being honest with yourself. It's an OK start.
The reason GGG-Ward would do better than Lemieux is because we know Ward is a good fighter. A lot of people would want to see how good GGG really is, as he would be the focal point in that matchup.Comment

People are spoiled by Manny/Floyd draws. I was in that group until I recently took a hard look at the actual numbers. Take a look at some recent PPVs that did NOT have either Manny or Floyd:
3-Dec-11 Miguel Cotto vs. Antonio Margarito II 600,000[47]
15-Sep-12 Sergio Martínez vs. Julio César Chávez, Jr. 475,000[50]
12-Oct-13 Timothy Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Márquez 375,000[53]
8-Mar-14 Saúl Álvarez vs. Alfredo Angulo 350,000[55]
7-Jun-14 Miguel Cotto vs. Sergio Martínez 315,000[58]
12-Jul-14 Saúl Álvarez vs. Erislandy Lara 300,000[59]
17-Oct-15 Gennady Golovkin vs. David Lemieux 150,000[61]
Make no mistake about it - Floyd & Manny were head and shoulders above anyone else when it comes to PPV draw power, everyone else, even people who had fought as B-sides to those 2, are not great headliners.
This is why I don't see Ward/GGG becoming a huge draw. If Canelo and Cotto, who had previous PPV experience and fought Mayweather draw 300k buys, there's no chance in hell GGG/Ward draws more than 250k.Comment

I can't believe how low people are saying it will be. I honestly think it would do at least 1 million buys but we probably won't find out.
It may sound crazy but boxingscene comments give a good indication on how big a fight would be, everytime there's something controversial relating to Ward-GGG the comments go viral in a way i haven't seen besides May-Pac.Comment

The wack **** about Ward is that he went and got hurt again. It's like he's giving ppl reasons to **** all over him. He's not exciting to watch anyway so that's always gonna be a problem. He had promotion issues and went extended periods without fighting. On top of that, the injury bug is always stinging him. Golovkin on the other hand hasn't had and doesn't have any of those problems.Last edited by Bigg Rigg; 11-10-2015, 05:02 PM.Comment
