    Konstantin Ponomarev

I've been watching some of this guy's fights and he looks a real solid boxer. He doesn't have much pop but he's very skilled and athletic. I can't find much on his amateur background, he's only 23 and turned pro 5 years ago.

He'll probably be involved in the upcoming WBC tournament, I'd like to see him matched up with anyone in the top 10, he looks the goods.

    Anyone else familiar with him?

He's one of my favorite boxers.

I see he's fighting TBA on a Top Rank card, still no opponent although it was scheduled weeks ago.

I hope he hasn't signed with Top Rank - they'll just ruin his career like they've been doing to many others.

Yeah TR aren't going a very good job of building fighters atm, especially the Eastern Euro guys.

Nah he didn't, unlike most Eastern Euro guys he turned pro early so he's doing a lot of his learning as a pro.

Here's his biggest win to date, great performance:

Ponomarev is fighting Brad Solomon on the Pac vs Bradley card this weekend, keep an eye on him.

I expect it to be a close and very good, technical fight. Solomon is a skilled, tricky vet.

Btw Ponomarev is ranked #3 by the IBF, I'm guessing he'll be ordered to fight Spence in a final eliminator for a shot at Brook by the end of the year.

He looks decent. Very young too, by today's boxing standards. He definitely looks like he has a higher ceiling than Mikhaylenko.

Yeah, this guy's got good skill, I think he's lower top 10 atm.

                Mikhaylenko is terrible.

Good performance from Ponomarev, the judge who scored it for Solomon needs to be executed immediately.

This boy can fight. He's good in the pocket and at range, he's got a very good punch variation and high output, he needs to be more responsible defensively but he's still only 23. Guy is gonna be a problem.

Bob will probably have him face Vargas at some point. No way does he step in with Spence, who would work him out.
